The youth parliament usually focuses its activities on two main areas:
Advocacy activities – It represents activities aimed at advocating and representing the interests and views of young people concerning decision-makers, especially towards local government (municipal or city council, mayor, etc.). Typical examples of advocacy activities are active participation in local council meetings, membership in a youth commission, organization, or participation in discussion meetings with local officials. A significant part of this area is also identifying the needs and opinions of young people. Some youth parliaments carry out similar surveys regularly, through online questionnaires, etc.
Leisure activities – Organizing various events and activities according to the interests and needs of young people in the town or village. Typical examples include the organization of concerts, festivals, games, sports events, camps, etc.
